Carly & Alex’s Engagement in Glacier National Park

There’s just something about engagements in Glacier National Park that feels bigger than life itself. Carly and Alex wanted their session to be playful, a little adventurous, and full of those candid in–between moments that make their love story feel like a movie. And Glacier gave us everything – from laughter in the campground to the most iconic pink sunset over Lake McDonald!

Starting the Afternoon in the Apgar Village Campground

We kicked things off in Apgar Village, one of my favorite little corners of Glacier. It’s colorful, quirky, and right on the edge of Lake McDonald. It is the perfect place to start an engagement session in Glacier National Park. Carly & Alex played games outside, soaking up the afternoon light, and honestly, it felt like we were kids at summer camp again. Their laughter was nonstop, and it set the tone for the whole day.

From there, we wandered over to the campground. These two made the most ordinary spot feel magical; running around, hanging out by the trees, just enjoying each other with no rush. It’s those slower moments that make for the best engagement photos in Glacier National Park. I always tell my couples: don’t overthink it, just be yourselves!

And then came the moment. We made it down to Lake McDonald just in time for the kind of sunset you dream about. The sky lit up in soft pinks and golds, casting reflections across the water, and Carly & Alex danced along the shoreline like they were the only two people in the world.
